At Eyes of Tyler, we are committed to providing our patients with the best eye care available in East Texas. People schedule eye examinations for a variety of reasons. While it is recommended to set up an appointment every year or two for routine eye care, many of our patients also come in with concerning symptoms they want to address.

Few things are more frustrating than struggling to see the way you did before. When you need to hold a book further away from your face to see, or you can no longer read road signs until you are right in front of them, you know there is a problem.

While these problems can cause anxiety, your situation isn’t helpless or hopeless. Our optometrists in Tyler, TX will do everything possible to help improve and restore your vision. It all starts by scheduling a vision exam at our eye clinic.

How Eye Exams Work At Eyes Of Tyler

We use the latest breakthrough technology to care for our patients' eyes.

When you meet with our doctors, we will perform a thorough, two-part eye exam.

First is the ocular health examination. Either Dr. Hooton or Dr. Smith will examine the overall health of your eye. Your doctor will evaluate the eye’s structure and determine if there are any problems. They may also suggest eye dilation and other evaluation methods if necessary.

The second part of our eye exam is the visual examination. We will determine whether any prescription is needed to aid your vision. If so, we can provide you with your prescription or schedule a contact lens fitting if you prefer to wear contacts.
